Plakati iz serije Zimska razprodaja so oblikovno zastavljeni, kot se eni izmed mnogih razprodajnih oglasov trgovin ter veleblagovnic, ki nas, potrošnike vabiju k (nepotrebnem) zapravljanju v njihovih prostorih. Množica ogromnih številk različnih ponudnikov, ki v prednovoletnem ter božičnem času kar tekmujejo kdo lahko “svojim” zvestim kupcem ponudi bolj “ugoden” nakup ter večji “prihranek”, nam priteguje pozornost na vsakem koraku. Serija plakatov Zimska razprodaja nagovori mimoidočega na isti princip, pritegne pozornost zaradi izjemnega “popusta”, ki ga ponuja. Med iskanjem blagovne znamke, ki ponuja navedeno “ugodnost” (mimoidoči) zazna ironičnost plakata, ki mu oglašuje izjemno ugoden nakup materialnih dobrin, ki si jih že lasti. Tako serija postavlja ogledalo današnji potrošniški družbi ter ponuja alternativne rešitve prekomernemu potrošništvu. Serija je oblikovno zastavljena za zimski čas (pred) božičnih razprodaj, v obdobju leta ko nas oglaševalci kar najbolj izpostavljajo množici oglaševalskih kampanj k prekomerni in neetični potrošnji. Serija plakatov se je na natečaju Plaktivat (na temo alternativne potrošnje) uvrstila v ožji izbor dvajsetih finalistov. Poster series Winter sale is designed in a way similar to what we are used to in our day to day shopping advertising. All shops alike seem to compete which one can “give” bigger discounts to their loyal customers in the pre-Christmas era. In this way posters, Winter sale are similar. It attracts a passerby with it’s big discount. When searching for information of a shop which gives such a great sale opportunity one is confronted with the irony and the real message of the poster which advertises a great sale on the material things one already has (trousers, t-shirts & shoes you already have). In this sense Winter sale posters are a mirror to the society which has started to value, above everything else, the material possesions of an individual. As said it is designed for the winter Christmas shopping spree period to fit in with all the advertising in this time of the year.
